Construction contract available for Olympic Park footbridge
The search has begun to find a construction company to build a footbridge in the heart of the Olympic Park.
During the Games the 30m bridge will span the River Lea, giving pedestrians easy access between the Olympic Stadium and the Aquatics Centre.

GB appoint 2012 water polo coach
Jerome Read has been appointed British Water Polo's new head coach as they build towards the London 2012 Olympics. Read has a strong background in the sport and took bronze at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.

Concrete contract cemented for Olympic Park
The contract to supply the ready-mixed concrete needed for the construction of the Olympic Park has been awarded. Aggregate Industries UK won the bidding process partly due to its emphasis on meeting sustainability targets set out for the Games.

Demolition on 'big 5' venues complete
Demolition on the five main permanent venue sites - the Olympic Stadium, the Aquatics Centre, the International Broadcast Centre/Main Press Centre, the VeloPark and the Olympic Village - has been completed.

London 2012 babies celebrate third birthday
Twelve '20/12' babies celebrated their third birthday with Sebastian Coe at London 2012 headquarters today. The children were born on 20 December 2004 - or '20/12 day' - who will take part in the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games ceremonies.
