Construction contract available for Olympic Park footbridge The search has begun to find a construction company to build a footbridge in the heart of the Olympic Park.
During the Games the 30m bridge will span the River Lea, giving pedestrians easy access between the Olympic Stadium and the Aquatics Centre.

Aggregate Industries UK won the bidding process partly due to its emphasis on meeting sustainability targets set out for the Games. 13th December 2007 Demolition on 'big 5' venues complete Demolition on the five main permanent venue sites - the Olympic Stadium, the Aquatics Centre, the International Broadcast Centre/Main Press Centre, the VeloPark and the Olympic Village - has been completed. 19th December 2007 London 2012 babies celebrate third birthday Twelve '20/12' babies celebrated their third birthday with Sebastian Coe at London 2012 headquarters today.
