The sweeping roof of the venue is an innovative steel structure with a striking and robust aluminium covering. 2nd July 2008 BP announced as latest Tier One partner BP will provide the fuelling facilities for Games-related transport. It will also provide Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for catering, vehicle washing facilities and technical support services, including a system for tracking and reporting carbon emissions 3rd July 2008 Security set to increase in Olympic Park The search has started for contractors to provide security services for the Olympic Park.

Elyo, a subsidiary of SUEZ Energy Services, have won the contract and will invest more than £90m of private investment in the project. 8th July 2008 London 2012 issues sponsorship statement London 2012 has issued a statement in repsonse to an article in the Evening Standard. 8th July 2008 Long-term regeneration of east London at the heart of plans 75p in every £1 spent by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) is being invested in the long-term regeneration of east London. 10th July 2008 Canoe and Kayak venue designs unveiled The designs for a new world-class White Water Canoe Centre, in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire, have been unveiled.
A planning application has now been submitted for the venue.
10th July 2008 Children play safe at workshops Over 1,500 children from schools around the Olympic Park are taking part in health and safety drama workshops run by the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA). 11th July 2008 Consortium appointed for Games media centre A consortium has been appointed to create the International Broadcast Centre/Main Press Centre (IBC/MPC) for the London 2012 Games.
