History of Modern Olympics - 1906

Coubertin, with a view to restore the Olympic spirit after the 1900 and 1904 debacles, gave shape to his idea with the organisation of the 1906 Intercalated Games which were inserted into the Olympic calendar, and it was tentatively decided to hold the interim Games every four years. However, the IOC did not approve the idea, and the Games were soon discontinued with neither the 1906 Games nor the records being treated as official.
